In flight, you can only write an airless story
Experience the turbulent journey of Asteroid B-612, a play that takes you on a surreal adventure through the cosmos of the human soul. Dominique, a weary and disenchanted writer, awakens mid-flight to confront his inner demons, reminisce about past loves, and grapple with existential questions. As he navigates through a metaphorical landscape, Dominique's narrative intertwines with the mystical and the mundane, inviting audiences to reflect on their own life journeys. With poetic dialogue and a compelling blend of humor and introspection, Asteroid B-612 illuminates the invisible threads that connect us all.

Show runs September 19 - September 29 at the Beckman Theater, located on the 2nd floor of American Theater of Actor. This unique play, written by the talented Roman Freud, who also stars as the lead character Dominique, is a metaphorical journey through the human experience. Performed in Russian with English subtitles, the play runs for 1 hour and 20 minutes, offering a blend of humor, introspection, and poetic dialogue.

Playwright and Lead Actor
Roman Freud
Roman Freud, a graduate of The Schukin Theater School in Moscow, has directed and performed in numerous plays, including Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Twelfth Night, as well as Salinger’s Franny and Zooey. He has also starred in all of the productions of the Moscow Jewish Chamber Musical Theater and toured internationally. Since moving to the United States in 1991, he has written film and theatrical scripts in English and Russian, with notable works including Ask Joseph, Singing Windmills, and Aleksey Aleksandrovich.
Producer
Maria Miller
Maria grew up in Moscow, Russia, where she was immersed in the world of arts, music, and theater from an early age. Although she ultimately chose a different career path, her passion for theater has remained a constant throughout her life. Today, she channels her lifelong love for the stage into her work as a producer.
Recently Maria collaborated with New Wave Arts and Steps Theater on the Recent Productions "Baudelaire's Passion" and "The Unexpected Man".​
Sound Producer
Denis Zabiyaka
Denis started his DJ career at 15 created music, performed and toured around Russia. He got a degree in sound engineering and became a manager of a studio in Moscow. He was an official DJ at the Paralympic Games in Sochi and founded his own record company. He also a sound producer and founder of two music bands. In 2017 and 2018, he started a multimedia musical project of the multimedia musical project EPPOS being a sound producer and an animated musical series PG13 where Denis is a general producer.
Lighting Crew
Nathaniel Freud
Nathaniel Freud, an 18-year-old New York native, has a passion for the performing arts, particularly in singing and acting. With notable roles such as Tevye in "Fiddler On The Roof" and Peter Quince in "A Midsummer Night's Dream", along with recent appearances in "The Singing Windmills", "Green Carriage", and "Operation Refrigerator", Nathaniel has demonstrated a breadth of talent and versatility. He is thrilled to be a part of the team. When not on stage, Nathaniel indulges in his love for cooking and his fascination with geography.
Stage Manager/Stewardess
Zuleyha Geldyeva
Zuleyha Geldyyeva is passionate about acting and currently studying at the John Desotelle Studio. Thrilled to be part of the theatre community, she previously took the role of stage manager for the production of The Unexpected Man.
In this production, Zuleyha is not only the stage manager but also assists the director and contributes to the backstage creative team. Her expertise ensures that every aspect of the show runs smoothly, from the precise timing of cues to the coordination of set changes.

Eduard Tolokonnikov
​In 2020, Eduard Tolokonnikov graduated from the directing department of the Russian Institute of theater Arts – GITIS with a drama theater and film acting degree. He is a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Modern Arts with theater arts research. He performed in various Russian theater (such as MAT of Gorky, theater center “On Strastnoy,” etc.) and participated in many Russian and International theater and Media festivals. In 2021 he founded the Acting & Directing laboratory. Directed an original "Baudelaire's passion" in 2023.

Tatyana Kot
Tatyana Kot, grew up in the Soviet Union studying ballet and dreaming of NYC stages, moved to New York after obtaining a Master's in Teaching History and Archaeology. She continued her movement artist training and choreographed 9 world premieres, including Don Nigro's "The Chaplin Plays" and John Patrick Shanley's "Candlelight" with Nylon Fusion theater company. Winner of Best Actress at Planet Connections Theater Festivity, Mid International Theater Festival, and First at Secondo Theater Festival in Zurich.
Voice Over/Stewardess
Inna Yesilevskaya
Inna is a Russian actress who graduated from The Kazan Theater School and performed at the Ivanovo Regional Theater and the Saratov Academic Theater. She immigrated to the US in 2001 and has since acted in several New York theaters, including the Rustem Galitch Theater of Poetry and Music and TRAKT. In 2016, she wrote and directed a one-woman play based on Alexander Pushkin's fairy tale "The Golden Fish" and has performed it nationally and internationally. She has also appeared in several productions at the Metropolitan Opera.
Scenographer/Costume Design
Jenya Shekhter
Jenya is a scenographer and costume designer who started her career in Odessa and continued her education in Tel Aviv University. She has worked various productions in Israel and internationally, including "Sailor's Silence", "Uncle Vanya", "A View from the Bridge", "The Dead Souls", and "Elsinor." Recently, she designed the stage set for PM Theater's show "The Singing Windmills", with wo sold-out runs Off-Broadway. Last year Jenya designed in NY "A Star Without a Name" and "Aleksey Aleksandrovich" and "Pinocchio" in Boston.

Alexandra Vainshtein
Alexandra was born in St. Petersburg, former USSR. At the age of ten, she convinced her mother to enroll her in art school, which marked the beginning of her artistic journey. When Alexandra was fourteen years old, her family immigrated to Israel, where she had the opportunity to continue her education in the arts.
In 2002, she moved to New York City, where she found a vibrant environment that fueled her creativity. Today, Alexandra is an award-winning photographer and has had several exhibitions around the world, showcasing her talent and passion for the art.
